What color are your marks?
from whom did they come?
and are they healing?
I have bruises
in all colors and sizes
and they aren't from the Almighty
I am marked, up and down
inside and out
the sources are too grand to list
but their existence is ever present
They come in the form of:
fear
self-doubt
self hate
loneliness
selfishness
defense
inadequacy
lust
judgemental- ism
and worst of all
separation from God
Bruises take time to heal
even if gone on the surface
they still are bothersome
underneath
Wherever you have bruising
let the Almighty step in
to lessen your marks--
to lighten their color--
to make smaller their size--
inviting Jesus in
will heal
over time
one
bruise
at
a
time.
